Jazz Band: is an auditioned group consisting of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that introduces musicians to swing, big band, blues, rock, funk, Latin, and ballads.  In addition, students are introduced to beginning jazz music theory and are given the opportunity to perform their own improvisation solos. The Jazz Band rehearses weekly on Tuesdays right after school and performs at the annual Evening of Jazz in the spring.
